Strange request but doed anyone know whether you can sunbathe topless in Bali or is it deemed as an insult to the locals like when I visited to Malaysia? Thanks you very much. I have seen people sunbathing topless in Bali quite a few times, but that was at the beach in Legian or Seminyak , where there's less people. People don't really sunbathe topless in Asia, but Bali Hindu is not as bad as Malaysia Muslim country. Best to see what the situation is like when you're there

Knowing what not to do in Bali can be as useful as knowing what to do. In fact, knowing how to keep yourself safe and keeping your behavior acceptable to locals will go a long way in ensuring you have a great holiday in Bali. Some parts of Bali has gotten a bit of a reputation as a party city. Drug trafficking, possession or consumption is a serious crime that some visitors take too lightly. Bali clamps down hard on drugs, and if you are in any doubt of this, do know that Bali has recently sentenced a 56 year old British woman to death for drug trafficking. You might think that it is safer to buy drugs locally, but it is not.
You can leave your clothes in your room when visiting Bali. Indonesia has a strong cultural and religious background and no public nudity is officially allowed. However, the island of Bali draws tourists from around the world, many of whom prefer topless or nude sunbathing. Although there are no official nude beaches on Bali, there are clothing-optional accommodations available and two 'unofficial' nude beaches on the island. Exposing body parts in an exotic way would be punishable by as much as 10 years in jail. Depending on how your nudity was perceived by the authorities under these laws, there could be severe legal consequences for public nudity in Bali.
You neglect to mention the obvious conclusion. Avoid Bali entirely! It just winds up in another pile somewhere else. Thanks for your comment Pete. We completely agree when it comes to the south of Bali, especially around Kuta and Seminyak. You should visit Surabaya city, East Java which is currently the greenest and the cleanest city in Indonesia. Anyone has to be stupid to visit Bali when Singapore is just 2hrs away. Very clean though not nude. Totally agree! I just wonder why people still go to Singapore when there are bunch of jaw drop beauty places just one or two hours away from this shit hole Singapore..
